Climate change is arguably the biggest challenge facing the planet today. The science is clear: if we don’t take immediate action to keep global temperature increases below 2C, the consequences will be devastating. But mitigating this crisis is an enormous undertaking, with everyone playing their part to make meaningful changes to their everyday lives, and working together to rethink and remodel the established way of doing things.

This week, WRAP is holding its inaugural Food Waste Action Week under the campaign header ‘Wasting food feeds climate change’. It’s a great, smart strapline, because most people don’t make the connection between the two. According to WRAP, while 81% of people in the UK say they’re concerned about climate change, but only 37% recognise that food waste is a contributing factor. — It’s actually a very significant contributing factor.
